We are safer with VP Robredo – Mutya

Ultimate loser former Senator Bongbong Marcos accused Vice President Leni Robredo that the lady stole the vice-presidency from him.

The 200,000+ vote lead of Robredo urged the younger Marcos to infer that there was rigging of the election. He then moved to file a petition before the Presidential Electoral Tribunal.

This is a vicious attempt by Marcos to again undermine the will of the Filipino people. This malicious actions are expected since history would tell us who among the two is capable of violating laws to amass either property, life, liberty or even as noble as a parcel of land in the Libingan ng Bayani.

The younger namesake of the late dicator if indeed is after the healing of this nation must acknowledge that change must start from their own family.

No national healing comes to life without genuine acceptance of faults from the perpetrators during the black regime of Martial Law. For the younger Marcos to gain the respect of the Filipino people in general again, he should lead his family with the truth and not to result with same old tactics only fitting to the molding of a ruthless oppressor-dictator.

While liability should not be passed to the younger generation of Marcoses, responsibility and morality runs in an uninterrupted manner and must be acknowledged by the present generation.

It is clearer now that the Marcoses is again after to seizing power. Between VP Leni Robredo and Marcos, the Philippines is safer with the former whose family’s track record is not painted with deceit, corruption, and human rights abuses.

Always an inspiring and decent VP.

Vice President Leni Robredo just proved that public officials could act and speak decently, and thus, worthy to be called Honorable. The wife of then Interior and Local Government Secretary, Jesse Robredo, and now occupying the second highest position in the country, delivered her congratulatory speech during the Awarding and Presentation Ceremony of Ramon Magsaysay 2016.

The Vice President said and I quote “ideas, which when used to cultivate humanity, are “more powerful than guns” and “more commanding than dictators.”

This is a clear stance that fear and humiliation should stop and that the government should seek for alternative solutions to most pressing problems of our country.

Even then President Ramon Magsaysay on his credo said

“Those who have less in life, should have more in law.”

This is an echoing statement, so true even today, that as government of people and by the people, we have the primary duty to uphold the rule of law and most importantly, our faith in  humanity.

I remembered one of my officemates said,

“Laws separate us from animals.”

VP Robredo also emphasized that we need to find and believe that inside of us are both a giant and a hero.

The speech was truly inspiring and it touched my nationalistic and patriotic spot. It made me realized that, goodness is more powerful than evil.

The speech of VP Robredo encourages positivity rather than by inflicting fear and intimidation to achieve a certain goal. It inspired me to dream big again and again, and to always do the things that make me happy and alive.

She is a real FILIPINO leader.

Ramon Magsaysay Award is considered as the Nobel Prize equivalent in Asia. It was established after the untimely death of President Ramon Magsaysay. The award honor individuals and organizations whose contributions have enhanced this creative tradition of selfless service to the peoples of Asia.

I am happy that one of my favorite government officials, The Ombudsman, Conchita Carpio Morales, was the only Filipina who was elected as one of this year’s recipient for restoring faith in the rule of law.

What kind of change?

President Duterte has all the power to appoint anyone to his cabinet. Anyone in the country can be a cabinet member regardless whether or not, he/she possesses the right attitude and competency. It becomes  clearer now that President Duterte’s main qualifications are friendship and utang na loob– a contradiction to his campaign message; “Walang lugar ang kaibigan sa aking gobyerno.”

On his latest statement he said, he is busy appointing his friends and kumpadres. He has no plans yet to give VP Leni Robredo any cabinet post.

I agree with President Duterte.

VP Robredo should not be a part of his questionable cabinet.

VP Robredo should stay away from that cabinet, because that circle will soon suction every ounce of goodness from her.

President Duterte should stand on his principles. It seems that change is really coming, the question is, what kind of change?
